My Final Music Video!
I edited my music video using Adobe Premiere Pro.
For the final scene of my music video, I created a pan out sequence by zooming in on my four main subjects and then setting the different keyframes and extending out the lines so that the clip only pans out so far at a certain point and at a certain speed.
Secondly, in the final scene, there was a bit of green screen that shouldn't have been there. I rectified this issue by using the "Ultra Key" effect to 'black out' the green screen. This allowed me to conceal the green colour without having to re-shoot.
During the first studio scene, I felt that there was too much light in the shot, so therefore, I used the 'Lumetri Colour' effect to alter the contrast, which made the shot appear a lot darker.
In one of the scenes set in The Walks, Kings Lynn, I was advised to make the colours in this shot appear more vibrant so I used the "Lumetri Colour" effect to give the colours a more animated effect.
For one of the scenes set at The Docks, Kings Lynn, I wanted to give the shot a more natural look. I used the "Lumetri Colour" effect to increase the vibrancy and the saturation of the shot.
Throughout my edit, I created a lot of short shots because in a lot of the music videos that I researched with fast-paced music, they use a lot of short shots to keep up with the fast beat of the music so therefore, I was inspired to use this technique in my own music video.
In several places in my edit, I created shots featuring just two of the characters as a few of my many short shots because these allowed me to separate the characters as well as to create lots of different shots to give the final edit a faster pace.
In my final edit, I took inspiration from my research by including the Vevo watermark. However, in a lot of the music videos I researched, the watermark appears very subtly so therefore, I reduced the opacity of the image and made the image very small.
In my final edit, following feedback from my tutor, I considered the order of the visual layers by ordering them in order of importance so for example, all of the footage that my audience will see will go into V1 because it is the main thing that will be seen, followed by the effects in the adjustment layers in V3 and V4. The Vevo watermark was placed in V6 because it will make sure that the same opacity remains constant throughout the majority of the video.

its great that each week your making a production diary which will help you in your evaluation nice one
ReplyDeletealso add a bibliography page just add the links to the websites and videos you used and turn them into the Harvard system form at the end of production
ReplyDeleteThanks for your feedback, Harry! I have added a bibliography page with references to every source of research I've used
DeleteVery good evidence of ongoing reflection Jack, it has been worthwhile to keep a dairy of events to help you reflect. To improve this you may want to talk about what knowledge or skills you gained from each instance, then you could set yourself targets for this project or upcoming projects.
ReplyDeleteFor your reflection to be beneficial to your creative development. Alongside identifying what you did, analyse what you've learnt and how that will help you in the future.
DeleteFor example, you may have identified that you didn't know how to use the Stedicam, so in the future you might need to practice using it to develop your skills in it.
Thanks for your feedback, Justin! As part of my evaluation, I will analyse what I've learnt from what I did and how this will help me in future projects.
DeleteI like how you have explained each stage of your editing the final piece was a bit dark and slightly out of time with the lip sync and the audio and having the video be mainly indoors with a black background makes it slightly tedious but the video is well shot.
